Latest News on Eduardo’s Injury

February 27th, 2008 | Category: Soccer

The Club can confirm that following the incident during Saturday’s match at Birmingham City, Eduardo has fractured his left fibula and sustained an open dislocation of his ankle joint in the same leg.

He was immediately taken to Selly Oak Hospital in Birmingham where he underwent surgery on Saturday evening. The operation was successful and Eduardo was transferred to a London-based hospital on Sunday afternoon.

Earlier today (Monday 25th February), the Orthopaedic surgeon and Arsenal medical staff assessed the extent of the damage and possible time scale for a full recovery.

All being well, Eduardo will have his leg in plaster and using crutches for the next six to eight weeks. After that time, partial weight-bearing exercises will be scheduled into a slow rehabilitation process.

It is hoped that Eduardo will be running again in six months time and making a full recovery after nine months.

Eduardo will be released from hospital in a few days.

The Arsenal medical team would like to take this opportunity to thank Birmingham City FC for their assistance on the day as well as the surgical and ward staff on S2 at Selly Oak Hospital for their expert medical care.

In addition, and on behalf of Eduardo, the Club would like to thank everyone for their many touching messages of support.

Speechless

February 24th, 2008 | Category: Soccer

Speechless and fume with regards to arsenal’s match which ended 2-2.

94min penalty for birmingham and poor finishing of both Arsenal’s strikers.

I wouldnt blame clichy for his loss of concentration but it was simply outrageous at this point of the game.

Indeed i would imagine how sad and angry gallas would be. Unable to revenge for his teammate and losing 2pts.

With A 5 pt lead and now down to 3pt if Manchester United manage to win their game.

And with eduardo out of the team due to a freak challenge by martin taylor during the 2nd min on his left ankle. I don’t see any blend of partnership from bendnter with any of the Arsenal’s players.

Devastated. yes indeed.

Manchester United Thrashed ! Arsenal 4 : 0

February 17th, 2008 | Category: Soccer

vs

Wayne Rooney (16)
Darren Fletcher (20)
Luis Nani (38)
Darren Fletcher (74)

Sometimes i really wonder what was wenger thinking on his mind =/. Yes they may have an important match upcoming against AC Milan but lining up such a squad against Manchester United is simply not good enough. And indeed =/ luck wasnt on Arsenal’s side as many of the main players are injured but it isnt an excuse. Just look at how Manchester United switches flank and use their wing back to support attacks. Where were all the Arsenal’s usual fluent passing rhythm ? Instead of playing Fabregas upfront support attacks and flamini to help out on defensive duties , wenger chosen gilberto there to play against quick players like anderson , nani , rooney. zzzz And Jens Lehman is simply not good enough to be Arsenal’s Main Goalkeeper. Just look at how rooney taunt him with his sprinting towards lemon. Slow distribution of balls and reaction is one of the cause of why arsenal were down at 4 nil this morning. How i wish Almunia didnt injure his fingers. And another weak link would be playing eboue , his play acting and brainless kick and run playing just would work against a strong team. And traore the under study of clichy , simply not around at the left flank whenever support are needed. He has the speed but no strength and determination and pretty poor at his judgment of tackling. And not to say Bendnter -_- i wonder what did he contribute to the team today.

Last but not least. Well done Manchester United. you did it again. Although i’m a pure Arsenal fan , i felt really good whenever Arsenal are beaten , thats when they will learn their lesson. Lets hope that Arsenal will then concentrate on CL and the premiership

Kung Fu Dunk 2008

February 14th, 2008 | Category: Daily, Soccer

just watched it just now at amk hub with hl . Well the show was pretty good. Although most of the scene was pretty anticipated as to what would happen(or maybe its mï½…) , the overall storyline was not bad. Nice acting by Eric Tsang and fellow old veterans. And grats jay zhou for his improvement on acting =) . Overall its a worth watching movie but on weekdays i guess =)

“Kung Fu Dunk” revolves around Shi-Jie (Jay Chou), an orphan who grew up in a Martial Arts School. With his nifty Kung-fu skills, he is spotted by Wang-Li (Eric Tsang) who invites him to join the university’s basketball team in the hope of making money from him. There, Shi-Jie finds out that Li-li (Charlene Choi), whom he has been admiring, is the sister of the team’s captain. She, however, idolises Xiao-Lan (Baron Chen), one of the other players on the team and it is this love triangle that throws the team off course initially before they gather their wits about them and focus on the real competition on the courts.

Director Kevin Chu works on a fail-proof formula of a tried-and-tested storyline and casting of superstar Jay Chou in the lead role. Supported by well known faces in the likes of Charlene Choi and Eric Tsang, this movie is a confirmed blockbuster during this Chinese New Year season. The director also cleverly keeps Jay Chou’s role simple and boyish and the love/hate, romance and other themes that the movie introduces and then deftly hidden from view, so that the attention consistently stays on the courts.

A comparison between this movie and other like movies such as “Shaolin Soccer”, “Kung Fu Hustle” and the same-date 2008 release of Stephen Chow’s “CJ7″ will be inevitable. Yet this movie should be able to hold its own simply by Jay Chou’s drawing power. Fans will be eager to see his kung fu skills and to see him in action playing his favourite sport - basketball. In addition, Jay Chou in “Kung Fu Dunk”, compared to his earlier movies, attempts a ’slam dunk’ in this movie by dappling with the deeper emotional stuff which his earlier works had largely avoided.

With Tony Ching, photographer of “Curse of the Golden Flower” and sound engineer Shirley Chan, who is a Golden Horse winner of best sound effects in Taiwan, who are amongst a host of other well known names who held the fort in the post production phase of this movie, it is little wonder that this movie clocks up the title of biggest production with its $10million budget. However, fans will agree that the slew of action from the cast coupled with the special effects is what will make this movie of great entertainment value and worth every sen spent. While the movie may not go down into the annals of Great Movies, it nevertheless fulfils its role as a great long weekend movie.

Lastly, look out for Baron Chen and Chen Bo-Lin as together they make great eye candy - that is if you are able to draw your attention away from Jay Chou for just a second. Expect a cameo appearance by Liu Geng Hong as well.

Wootz

February 13th, 2008 | Category: Soccer

lol stayed up till 4am just to watch arsenal’s match yesterday -.- and cheers all arsenal fans ! 2-0 win over blackburn and leading at the top of the table by 5pts. A fast paced start by arsenal leads to a good header scored by senderos and followed by blackburn trying to get back into the game by pushing upfront through the flanks. And nevertheless it was the determination and perseverance of Arsenal that hold on to the 1nil lead which lead to adebayor scoring again at the 90th min to seal the whole game up.
